Having a musical instrument such as a violin requires special handling to be used for long periods of time. Like any musical instrument, the violin is not sturdy and hard to break. Once slammed, the instrument can be damaged. In addition to this, many other factors to consider in the treatment of violin. Remember that the price of the violin is not cheap, so is the spare part. It would be better to prevent than to spend money to fix or buy again.

When purchasing a violin for the first time, we will be given compulsory accessories to the purchase of the violin. Accessories are special bags (usually hardcase), chin rest, bow, and rosin (hars). From some of these accessories there are additional ones that need to be provided by themselves because it is not a package with the purchase. The addition is a cloth cloth whose functions will be explained later. Keep the violin in a room that is not too hot and not moist. Temperatures that are too extreme can reduce the quality of wood and metal materials on the violin and its accessories.

Always take the violin along with the gear in a special bag that is given at the time of purchase. Violin is very fragile when carried in a regular bag. If you do not have a violin stand, use the special bag as a storage place. Better if the bag containing the violin is stored horizontally (horizontally) rather than vertical (upright), to avoid any force force on the body of the violin bag due to the force of gravity.

Each uses a bow, do not make her hair too loose and too tight. Rub the bow on the rosin (hars) if it feels the hair friction on the strings less tight or grip grip. Do not immediately rub the bow on the strings shortly after coated rosin. Instead, the newly-coated rosin bow hair is freed first to reduce the dust of the remaining coating. If not done, this dust can be attached to the strings and violin bodies and difficult to clean. The fatal result is inhaled by the breath that can cause interference in the respiratory tract. After the bow is used, loosen back the hair before it is stored in the bag.

Finish playing, use a cloth rag to clean up the rest of the sweat that is usually attached to the chin rest along with the hooks coming from the chin and neck. Another point that usually there is sweat is the fingerboard, coming from the fingertips when pressing the strings. Also clean the rosin remnants attached to the strings and wood on the violin body. Sweat that sticks to the wood can cause the erosion of paint, whereas if sticking to the metal part can cause rust. Remains of rosin attached to the strings and wood materials are also not well left in time, can accumulate and stick strongly.
